Ojos Diferentes
A new way of exploring the art and history of Santa Fe
A site-specific AR project exploring the art and history of Santa Fe
Ojos Diferentes is a Webby-nominated Snap AR project commissioned by the City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department, bringing the work of ten Indigenous, Norteño, and Chicana artists into eight locations across downtown Santa Fe. Each artist reinterpreted a historic site, monument, or overlooked corner of the city through immersive, site-specific AR, pairing contemporary artistic vision with historical research by City Historian Valerie Rangel.
I led the creative and technical direction for the project, working closely with participating artists to translate their ideas into spatial experiences. Depending on the piece, that meant everything from motion capture, 3D scanning, modeling, and illustration to recording sessions and on-site testing.
