The Garage
A live action technology performance at Meow Wolf
Creative Direction for Reality Bending Performances
At Meow Wolf, I creative directed The Garage, a live-action augmented reality performance designed for Magic Leap headsets. Across five connected XR experiences, participants moved through an intricately built “alien” garage populated by more than ten live performers, blurring the line between physical theater and immersive technology. The project was later named one of Forbes’ Top XR Installations of 2019.
The project was part of a broader body of work I led around emerging technology at Meow Wolf, including prototyping new interaction models, shaping XR strategy, developing concepts for future experiences, and pitching potential partners and investors. Much of my role focused on figuring out how new technologies could deepen Meow Wolf’s storytelling rather than simply function as spectacle.
